This is a picture of my two children Louis and Freya taken in 2010. I wanted to paint a portrait of them both, but not in a traditional style. I was experimenting on photoshop and came up with a posterized effect which I then changed into Black and White. I thought it would make an excellent portrait painting, so it was kind of an experiment, but I enjoyed it so much that when I had finished, I decided to paint them individually as well. 

This self portrait is my representation of Ben Tour's style of painting.

I am a 1st year student doing a BA (Hons) Fine Art For Design Degree and this is my very first blog so I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm sure I'll soon learn. I've chosen this colourful portrait by Artist Ben Tour to start me off, I love this artists technique and use of colour and found myself trully inspired by his work. I thought it would fit in nicely with the theme of my project work which is based around self-portraiture, it is a subject I have a huge interest in and one which I would like to pursue throughout my course.
